2009 Riesling Gumbleton's Vineyard
After a dry and fairly difficult time with cockatoos and crows, the fruit for this wine was picked by hand on 8th and 9th April. Selected from Rows 9-21 of Gumbleton’s vineyard at Booroolite, the low cropping fruit showed primarily lime, citrus blossom and ripe grapefruit characters. The citrus flavours, some minerality and talc combine to produce a wine of fragrance and intensity, balanced with fresh acidity. Although it can be put in the cellar for some years, it is just starting to come together beautifully.
