2009 Sauvignon blanc Baxendale's Vineyard
Harvested on 30th March from vines grown on deep soils without irrigation, on the Baxendale’s vineyard at Whitlands, the southern hills above the King River valley. The plump fruit had high natural acidity, with ripe gooseberry and herbaceous notes and the must was fermented cold in tank only, to retain the vibrant intensity of fruit aroma. The depth and liveliness of the flavours on the palate are matched beautifully by the tang of the wine’s acidity.
