2010 Shiraz Cowan's Vineyard
Selected from Rows 5-15 and 42-47 of the Cowan’s Mt Samaria vineyard at Lima South, the fruit was hand-picked on 22nd March; it was crushed to open tubs, fermented and hand plunged for 8 days, then basket-pressed off skins. The wine was matured in new (25%) and 1 and 3 year old French oak barriques for 14 months and shows rich aromas of dark plum, warm spices and earthy tones, complemented on the palate by the vanillin of French oak and firm tannins.
