The ripe, small-berried bunches were hand-picked from Rows 14-25 of Baxendale’s vineyard, 570 metres high in the Whitland hills. The warm year contributed to intensely concentrated and ripe fruit, with dark violet colour and aromas of rich, ripe blackberry and dark plums. The rich and warm flavours are enhanced and lifted by the spicy, cedar notes of subtle oak characters and fine tannins of new (25%) and young French oak barriques, where it was matured for 15 months.
