Hand-picked late in this cool vintage from the Timbertop vineyard, 565 metres above sea level. Crushed to open tubs with selected yeasts, the fruit was fermented for 7 days, hand plunging and pumping over regularly before pressing off skins and maturing for 18 months in seasoned (60%) and 1-3 year-old (40%) French oak puncheons and hogsheads.

Brick overlies ruby hues; aromas of violets, along with sour cherry and sweet spice meet with the savoury notes of herbs, tobacco leaf and leather, with pronounced grape tannins and good acidity increasing the structure and framing the full flavour. 13% Alc/vol
